Whilst watching Dereck "back boobs" Chisora's laughable attempts at getting in shape for his attempt to give away his titles to Luke Fury he reminded me whilst stepping on the scales of the ultimate lard ball Kevin McBride.
McBride will be remembered as the man who famously put the end of Mike Tyson's career, when in truth the once most feared man in the game turned up just for the payday. McBride then retired before coming back against perennial trial horse Zack Page and lost a ud over 8 rounds.
I watched his last effort (If I can call it that) and noted that world title challenger Tomasz Adamek literally only had to blow him over in the late rounds because he can't even stand for 12 rounds let alone fight for 12.
At the end of the day he is a name which every up and comer would like to add to their resume(the man who ended Tysons career) and the latest fighter to do this is 6 ft 7" 18 stone Marius Wach on Saturday (01.00).
Having watched 3 or 4 of his fights I noted that he turned up in good condition and stalks his often smaller foe beforelooking to unleash big conbinations.
I think he will bulldoze his way through McBride in about 6 rounds.
This is a fight where I feel McBride will turn up out of shape and as fat as usual so there is a benefit of getting our bet on early.
The weekend's other big fight features Brian Magee - the 36-year-old beat in 10 rounds by Lucian Bute - who has to travel to Costa Rica in his attempts to capture the WBA interium Super Middleweight
belt (01.00) against Jamie Barboza.
He will have to do the business in in Barboza's backyard and at 1-6 I feel we can afford to take on Magee. The 9-2 on offer about a Barboza is more than fair.
Recommended bets (scale 0-3):
1.5pts Wach by Ko, TKO or DQ 10-11
0.25pts Jaime Barboza to beat Brian Magee 9-2 Bet365/Betfred
