Victor Chandler were left counting the cost of Dustin Johnson’s hole-in-one on the 16th in the first round of The Open this morning.
VC spokesperson Charlie McCann said: “Johnson was backed from 66s to 50-1 pre tournament and his supporters haven’t had to wait long to be paid out following our offer of paying out as a winner any bet pre tournament in the outright market on a player who has an ace during the event. Every cloud however as we laid a bet of £20k at 4-6 yesterday for there not to be a hole-in-one during the four days; that punter also didn’t have to wait too long to know his fate. That certainly eased the pain.”
