Eight races on Channel 4 today from Newbury, Newmarket and Ripon. Find out where alll the value lies in our armchair race by race guide.
2.00 Newbury - Native Khan was impressive when scoring in a good time on his debut at Newmarket but it's difficult to know exactly what he beat as the form is not working out well. He is undoubtedly an exciting propsect but Zaidan looks a far safer betting proposition despite having to give away 3lb all-round. Clive Brittain's colt is unbeaten in two starts and looked good when running out the three length winner of the Chesham at Royal Ascot. The form of that race is very solid as the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh home have all scored since.
2.15 Newmarket - Kalk Bay is all the rage following his impressive maiden win at Chepstow, but at the odds on offer he looks worth taking on. The value could be Richard Fahey's Ingleby Spirit who is beginning to look well handicapped after some lack lustre efforts. His third behind Dandino at Doncaster back in April was a cracking effort, and if returning to that sort of form he would take all the beating.
2.30 Newbury - Kite Wood goes for back to back wins and is very difficult to oppose now that the rains have arrived. He was impressive when scoring in this last year and went on to finish a fine second in the St Leger. He can easily be forgiven his latest run when clearly failing to stay in the Ascot Gold Cup and is expected to bounce back to form and take care of the progressive Sans Frontieres.
2.45 Newmarket - An impossible race to solve, with the only certainity that the winner will be grey! Sutton Venny is in terrific form and looks sure to make a bold bid from the front. However he is unproven with cut in the ground and it could pay to take a chance with Tony Newcombe's Witchry who is very well handicapped, handles soft going, and signalled a return to form when finishing third at Bath last time out.
3.05 Newbury - Ouqba is the clear form pick on his second to Paco Boy in the Lockinge but he has been slightly disappointing in his last two starts and has not looked the most straightforward. He sports blinkers for the first time and I am not convinced that they will have a positive effect and I can see him running too free as a result. The one that could be a bit of value is Shakespearean who looked a horse to follow when scoring at Epsom earlier in the season. He has been slightly disappoiting since but Godolphin are now beginning to hit their stride and there is every chance that he could be allowed to dominate from the front and get an easy lead.

3.30 Ripon - The selection for this race is available on my phone hotline and is massively overpriced. For full details call 09052 401300 now.

3.40 Newbury - Manassas bounce back to form when chasing home Al Khaleej at Newmarket last weekend and a reporduction of that effort should be good enough to land this. Oil Strike is relatively unexposed and could give him most to do.
