Teeming Rain has tumbled down the weights and looks terrific value at 9s to land a second Devon National at Exeter today (3.30).
Jonjo O'Neill's charge ran away with this contest last year and looks to have been laid out for a repeat performance from a handicapping point of view.
His victory in the stamina sapping contest came off a mark of 113 and resulted him in being whacked up 9lb by the assessor.
The rise saw his form tail off, but he has gradually shown a return to form in his last two races as his mark drops to a near all time low.
He really caught the eye when finishing third to Ya I Know at Bangor-on-Dee last time out, and now races off a 2lb lower mark than when scoring last year.
His rating of 111 is the lowest he has had since coming over from Ireland at the beginning of 2008, and given the fact that he was once rated 127 after winning a Grand Natioonal Trial at Punchestown he has to be worth a punt at 9-1.
Recommended bet: 3pts each-way Teeming Rain (9-1 Victor Chandler, Ladbrokes)
