Marin Cilic has had a disjointed season. He had a fantastic tournament in Melbourne but the first Slam of the season probably represented a season high. he made the last sixteen at Roland Garros but had time to visit the attractions in London after going out in the first round at SW19. he has played only selected tournaments subsequently but has been in good form this week. Beating Istomin, Fish and the in form Tipsarevic on his way to the semi-final in Washington.
At around the witching hour tonight he takes on the born again Argentine David Nalbandian, who is ranked 100 places below his semi-final opponent. On his way to the last four he has taken out Wawrinka, Chiundelli and Simon.
They haven't faces each other across the net since 2006 and Nalbandian holds a one zip advantage. This will be close and at puntinplay we fancy Cilic to make his fourth final of the season.
