Spirit River turned the ultra competitive Coral Cup into a procession to give Barry Geraghty a quick-fire 164-1 double following the victory of Big Zeb.
Nicky Henderson's five-year-old was never far off the pace throughout the 2m 5f contest and after winging the last landed full of running and ran on really well to beat 80-1 outsider Tullamore Dew and the running on James De Vassy (16-1).
Micheal Flips ran a brave race to finish fourth, and those who backed Quantatitiveeasing each-way have a lot to thank Tony McCoy for as he never gave up on his mount and managed to hang on for fifth with most bookmakers paying out on the extra place.
The unlucky horse of the race was the well backed Wishful Thinking who was travelling strongly in third place in the hnads of Giles Hawkins when crashing out at the second last.
Whether he would have beaten the impressive winner is doubtful, but he was still travelling powerfully and would definitely finsihed in the frame at least.
However take nothing away from the winer, who was given an ultra confident ride by Barry Geraghty and looks the type to make up into a decent chaser next season.
