Solwhit has scoped dirty and is now a major doubt for next week's Champion Hurdle.
The six-year-old had been as low as 4-1 for the hurdling crown, but his trainer Charles Byrnes revealed today that there was now a serious doubt about him making the line-up.
Speaking shortly after midday, he told the Racing Post: "The news is bad. Solwhit scoped dirty less than half an hour ago and while he is not definitely out of the Champion Hurdle there has to be a serious doubt about him running.
"He has to go on antibiotics until Thursday and things are very much up inthe air. It's the last thing we wanted to happen, but I've spoken with his owners and they want everyone to know the situation."
