Sizing Europe kept his unbeaten record over fences when fending off the late challenge of Somersby to land the Arkle.
The eight-year-old, who was sent off 6-1, was always up with the pace and jumping fluently and and cruised up to take the advantage at the second last where the leader Mad Max made a horrendous mistake.
He was going that well that rdier Andrew Lynch had no choice but to kick for home, but after taking fourth lengths out of his his rivals he began to idle on the run-in and was all out to hold off the staying on Somersby (4-1) by three-quarters of a length with edward o'grady's Osana (14-1) back in third.
Winning trainer Henry De Bromhead said: "He was always travelling and jumping great and was given a fantastic ride. he loves to be fresh and prefers the better ground I'm delighted that it all went right on the day."
The 5-2 favoruite Captain Cee Bee, who was very disappointing and never threatened to land a blow, was found to have broken a blood vessel.
The winner and the runner-up are both a top priced 10-1 for the 2011 Queen Mother Champion Chase. Osana is a 20-1 shot
