It's great to see three past winner going head-to-head in today's Gold Cup (3.20), and I am firmly in the Imperial Commander camp.
Nigel Twiston-Davies produced him spot on to land last year's contest and altough things have not gone according to plan for much of the season he is said to be "bouncing" and back to his brilliant best.
The horse simply comes alive at Cheltenham, and I think he will prove too strong for the Paul Nicholls' pair of Denman and Kauto Star.
The ground could also be against King George winner Long Run, and the one that could give the champ most to think about is Kempes.
He looked good in the Irish Hennessy and there is plenty of stable confidence behind him.
The action gets underway at 1.30 with the Triumph Hurdle, and I like the look of Sam Winner.
He was very impressive when beating Grandouet earlier in the season, and although below par last time out has been freshened up and will be produced spot on for this by Paul Nicholls.
Alaivan beat Carlito Brigante last time out, and given that he bolted up in the Coral Cup earlier in the week, Eddie O'Grady's charge must have a big chance in the County Hurdle (2.05).
In the Albert Bartlett (2.40) I like the chances of Court In Motion whilst in the Foxhunters (4.00) I can't look beyond Baby Run who was so impressive last year and has had the perfect preparation to retain his crown.
The Martin Pipe Conditional (4.40) is almost impossible to solve, but it would be great to see David Pipe win the race named in honour of his father and his Shoegazer will be carrying my each-way cash.
If Pipe doesn't win with Shoegazer then I think he will with I'msingingtheblues in the Kim Muir (5.15) which brings this tremendous meeting to a close.
