Scamperdale has been in terrific form of late and looks to have a golden chance of scoring again in the 3.50 at Leicester.
The gelding has won three of his last five starts, including twice over course and distance, and was far from disgraced when finishing fourth last time out in better race than this at Nottingham.
He was beaten just over four lengths that day by Spoken off a mark of 85, and the handicapper has since dropped him a 1lb.
His current mark does not look beyond him given that he had previously finished an excellent second to the much improved Speed Dating off 85 before beating Ellemujie in good style off 80.
With conditions very much in his favour he is clearly the one they all have to beat.
