Fernando Verdasco won a three set thriller late last night to beat Andy Roddick and land the SAP Open for the first time.

Verdasco, the pre-tournamnet tip, lost the first set but took two and three without having to resort to a tie break. Given the fact that he hasn't got to many miles on the clock this season he should only improve over the next few weeks.
The tour now moves onto Memphis, where the line up is very similar to last week.
