Brandt Snedeker has had a fair year. He finished second in the John Deere Classic in July and has had four other top ten finishes this year. However he will probably be best remembered for missing a couple of very short, back to back putts, that would have seen him qualify for the end of season top thirty Championship play-off. Snedeker has a chance for Disney redemption and at 33/1 we think he represents a bit of punt in play value.
The field for the Florida event is not the strongest as there are quality tournaments in Australia and Hong Kong taking place. Davis Love won the event last year and he is again a leading contender but we have filed him in the lay category these days. Zach Johnson heads the market at around the 14/1 mark and he is the class horse in the field. He has won twice this tour and has a further 6 top ten finishes to his credit. Overall he was sixth in the Fed Ex rankings. The Zach man has to be on the short list but Snedeker is twice the price and therefore a more attractive proposition before a ball is struck in anger.
Steve Marino, who played so well at the Open in July, would have been in our "two against the field" selection box but he has been a late scratch and we will go with Snedeker and then review the situation after the first round.
