Fabio Capello's decision to axe 13 of his World Cup flops has been hailed by football fans on Betfair, who are backing England to win their friendly against Hungary at Wembley Stadium tonight.
The Three Lions, much maligned after a disastrous campaign in South Africa, can be backed at 1-3 to win the match, a warm-up game ahead of the Euro 2012 qualifying campaign which starts in September.
The punters aren’t convinced that a Hungary side including players such as Tamas Priskin and Marton Fulop can pull off what would be a famous victory. Sandor Egervari’s side are available at 12-1 to beat what should be a re-invigorated England side.
Betfair’s Andy Lulham said: “With much of the World Cup deadwood cleared out there is renewed hope amongst the England faithful. That’s why the punters are backing the team to win tonight.”
To win England vs. Hungary Betfair bet: 1-3 England, 9-2 Draw, 12-1 Hungary
