I'm In The Pink has caught the eye on more than one occasion and could be overpriced at 12-1 in the opener at Ludlow today (2.30).
The six-year-old went into my notebook after finishing a highly promising fifth behind Paul Nicholls' Tito Bustillo at Taunton on only his second start over the obstacles.
To say he was not given a hard race that day is a certainly a massive understatement. He was held up miles of the pace by Timmy Murphy before making steady headway on the bridle three from home.
However he was brought that wide and he had so much to do that he was never going to get to the leaders, and in the end could only keep on at one pace to be beaten a total of 16 1/1 lengths by the winner.
It was certainly a very taking run, and the form of the race is rock solid as the winner is one of the favourites for the County Hurdle, and the runner-up The Betchworth Kid is a leading contender for the Albert Bartlett.
The selection has since been given a couple of spins on the flat and then ran better than his finishing position suggest when returned to hurdles at this track eight days ago.
It's interesting that money has started to arrive for him this morning, and at the 12-1 still available with Sky Bet and Paddy Power he is definitely overpriced.
Recommended bet: 3pts each-way I'm In The Pink (12-1 Sky Bet, Paddy Power)
