Donald McCain today said his exciting prospect Peddlers Cross was almost certain to line up for the Neptune Novices Hurdle instead of the Supreme at next month's Cheltenham Festival.
The Cheshire handler reported his unbeaten five-year-old, who created a huge impression when slamming Scriptwrietr at Haydock, to be in "terrific shape".
"He's almost certain to go for the Neptune instead of the Supreme. The only thing that would change our minds is if the ground came up very soft," said McCain.
Peddlers Cross is currently a top priced 12-1 with William Hill for the Neptune, and as short as 9-1 with bet365, Paddy Power and Stan James.
