At puntinplay we called it right yesterday when we said that we thought that the first round leader would be striking his first shot before 10am.

Mcilroy, who leads the circus at nine under, set off at just before the 8.30am headlines and the majority of the leading pack had also set the alarm for an early morning call. Lee Westwood has to be congratulated for his 67 but it looks like he will have to struggle again tomorrow. The best of the weather appears to be later in the day, which will be a double benefit for the players who went early on Thursday.
There looks to be a top quality leaderboard developing. Woods is just off the pace with Westwood and two Amercians we thought would do well, Marino and O'Hair, performed with credit. Both players go late tomorrow and should consolidate their position prior to the cut tomorrow night. O'Hair at 50's with Betfair still looks value.

We fancy them both to win their three balls tomorrow afternoon.
