There are eight wildcard matches in the Sanyuan Foods China Open on Monday, with the lowest qualified players up against a selection of up-and-coming Asian stars – and I honestly don't see many shock results forthcoming.
Former Tour pro Tian Pengfei could give MARK DAVIS a few problems, but Davis is enjoying a fairly decent season and at 9-10 with Betfred, he could actually be good value to progress to the first round. Pengfei beat Daviod Gray in this event last season, although a lack of playing time against the pros could count against him.
I don't think ANDREW HIGGINSON (1-2) will have any problems against Li Yan, while RORY McLEOD (1-2) has been playing some excellent stuff of late and should see off Liu Chuang without too much difficulty, while in-form TONY DRAGO (1-4) is a warm order to beat Shi Shuamgyang.
Robert Milkins is no value at 2-9 to defeat Lu Chenwei, although he should win at a canter, while a rejuvenated James Wattana (3-10) will account for Au Chi Wai and Belgian BJORN HANEVEER is expected to see off Yu Delu and is worth backing at 5-6.
The one match which could see a shock result could be in the Rod Lawler versus SUPOJ SAENLA encounter, with the Thailand cueman an eyecatching 3-1 to get the better of journeyman Lawler. Lawler lost to Delu at this stage last season, going down 5-3, and lightning could strike twice again for him here.
