Jenson Button was today reported to have given himself a self-imposed sex ban in his bid to clinch the Drivers’ Championship in Brazil this weekend, and it’s 2/5 that a night without nookie will prove a winning formula.
His constant companion and model girlfriend Jessica Michibata, is to miss the biggest race of her boyfriend's life starting with practice today.
Instead the 24 year-old , who has been at his side almost every race this year, is on a modelling assignment in Japan.
A source is reported in a national newspaper as saying that Button wanted to be able to "totally focus on racing".
Just two races of the Formula One season remain and Sky Bet make Button, who is 14 points clear in the standings, 2/5 to clinch the title on Sunday. A third place finish at Interlagos would guarantee him his maiden world title and he is 11/4 to finish on the podium.
Button’s team-mate Rubens Barrichello is still in the hunt for the Drivers’ Championship and is 8/1 with Sky Bet to win his home grand prix this weekend.
Rain is expected at Interlagos, which could favour wet-weather specialist Sebastian Vettel, who is 9/4 favourite to take the chequered flag. Following Vettel’s victory at Suzuka, Red Bull will be hoping he takes his winning form into the final two races and Sky Bet make the 22-year-old German 10/1 to snatch the world crown from Button at the season finale in Abu Dhabi.
