Nina Carberry was today confirmed as the rider for 20-1 shot Character Building in Saturday's John Smith's Grand National.
Riding plans for the John Quinn trained grey had been up in the air after new owners David and Partricia Thompson (who own the Cheveley Park Stud) asked for Jamie Codd to be replaced.
But Quinn today revealed that Carberry, who has only had one previous ride in the Grand National when finishing ninth on Forest Gunner in 2006, had got the plum ride.
"After discussions with Mr and Mrs Thompson it has been decided that Nina Carberry will ride Character Building on Saturday in the Grand National," the Malton handler told his website, www.johnquinnracing.co.uk.
"Nina has proved time and again that she can mix it with the best and the Thompsons we're very keen to acquire her services. Roll on Saturday."
