It is is the Mercedes Cup in Stuttgart this week and the washing line has put the Volgograd man, Nicolas Davydenko in as the 9/4 favourite. At this price the Russian is very opposable, given that he has only just returned from a serious wrist injury and the red stuff isn't his favoured surface.
The each-way value looks to lie at the bottom half of the draw and the two players that catch our attention are Jurgen Melzer and Philipp Kohlschreiber.
Jurgen, as we have said many times isn't German, but he ia a rapidly improving as a player and has done really well at the last two slam events. In Paris he made the last four and only went out to the players that everybody beats, Rafa Nadal. At SW19 such was his form that he was strongly fancied to give Fedex some problems in the last 16, however the former World number one saw off Melzer in straight sets. The return to clay will suit the Austrian and at 11/2 with Skybet he looks worth an interest.
Kohlschreiber , 8/1,will be playing on home turf and he must have a chance of meeting Melzer in the semi-final, which would be the ideal result for puntinplay, and it is worth noting that he hold a 3-0 head to head advantage over Melzer.
The big guns don't get out until tomorrow but not all the prices are in as yet, so we would recommend holding until you see the full list later on today.
