Noel Meade today reported Go Native to be bang on target for the Champion Hurdle, and revealed that he believes his hurdling star has a lot more speed than the brilliant Harchibald.
The horse will land connections a £1 million bonus from WBX if he is successful at Cheltenham having already secured victories at Newcastle and Kempton in the first two legs of WBX's Triple Crown challenge.
In his latest blog on www.wbxtriplecrown.com Meade says: “When Go Native arrived back in Ireland after Kempton he looked very well and fortunately we have had no hold-ups with him since.
“With around six weeks to go until Cheltenham we are just starting to increase his workload ahead of the Champion Hurdle and I’ll probably be taking him to Leopardstown for a piece of work on the grass in the near future.”
Meade also took time to compare Go Native to his former stable star and 2005 Champion Hurdle runner-up, Harchibald.
“The comparisons between Go Native and Harchibald have been well documented since Kempton and I can confirm that the pair are similar types of horse. However, I'd have to say Go Native possesses a lot more speed than Harchibald. Hopefully he will be able to show that in the Champion Hurdle.”
The World Bet Exchange offers a “Will the WBX Hurdling Triple Crown Be Won” market and over £196,000 has so far been wagered with `Yes` backed from a high of 49/1 into a current price of 6.4/1.
