David Lanigan's Mazagee is a filly with a really progressive profile and at 7/1 looks the one they all have to beat in the 4.20 at Doncaster.
The lightly raced daughter of Muhtathir showed improved form when slamming Record Breaker by just under four lengths at Lingfield last month off a mark of 74, and followed that up with a solid second to the fast improving Fire Fighter at Wolverhampton off a 6lb higher mark.
She was unlucky to bump into such a well treated rival that day, and although no match for the winner was not knocked about once it was clear she would not be winning and finished just over 3 lengths clear of the third despite being eased in the closing stages.
Another solid effort off a career high mark of 82 followed at Salisbury last time out where she stayed on well to go down by just 1/2 a length to High On A Hill.
She is due to go up another couple of pounds in the near future, but gets into this contest on the same mark and I am convinced that she has even more to offer.
Today's galloping track should really play to her strengths, and at 7/1 she looks an each-way steal.
Recommended bet: 2pts each-way Mazagee (7/1 Ladbrokes, Paddy Power - BOG)
