Over in the Ukraine Barcelona made sure they will be joining United in the semis – Real Madrid will almost certainly be Barca’s last four opponents – by beating Shakhtar Donetsk 1-0. Lionel Messi was the inevitable goalscorer and he closes in on the distinction of being this season’s top scorer in the competition. Barcelona are the side everyone is fearing, including the Betfair layers, who make them the 2.18 favourites to win yet again. They’ve traded at a high of just 5.0.
