Both Kinda Easy and Raving Black, our ante post selections, made it through to Friday's Williamhill.com Grand Prix semi finals at Sunderland. Raving Black ran his usual honest race running on well to snatch third behind England Expects, but Kinda Easy had to dig deep to grab third spot after missing 'the up', and then finding trouble getting a clear run. Mark Wallis' St leger hero has been breaking well of late and I expect him to improve on that performance, however I am hoping he can show his normal early dash to give him a chance to show what he can do on the bunny around this venue. Greenwell Viper went fastest on the night when recording 39.39, and he looks to be relishing the track and trip.
Blue Artisan qualified for the semis in the Classic after not trapping too smartly, he then rushed to the opening turn and was crowded but showed his customary flying pace down the far side, only to find more trouble. He went down by a head, but the Gymcrack runner showed enough to convince me he is a major player for outright honours. Performance of the night went to Derby finalist Lyreen Mover who blitzed his rivals when flying around in 26.83. He pinged from trap 3 and then proceeded to run his rivals ragged, coming home 6 1/4 lengths clear of Droopys Noel. The Hungarian raider was certainly not 'hanging about' on this occasion!
