If local knowledge is anything to go by, it will be Denman who triumphs in the totesport Cheltenham Gold Cup on Friday week.
The 747 inhabitants of Ditcheat, the village where Paul Nicholls trains, believe they will be raising a glass to "The Tank" rather than current favourite Kauto Star.
Although it is a close call, 51% of local residents are backing Denman to be first past the post, just edging out the 49% of Kauto Star.
Simon D'Offay, landlord of the Manor House Inn, the only pub in the village, told Attheraces: "There's a real division amongst my regulars but I'm in the Denman camp.
"Whatever happens, I'm sure we'll all celebrate over a few pints!"
