Larks Lad went into my notebook as a winner waiting to happen last time out and appeals as the best bet at Ayr in the finale at 5.05.
Nicky Henderson's gelding bounced back to form when beaten the progressive Cloudy Spirirt at Bangor-on-Dee, travelling well for much of the journey and finishing well clear of the rest.
He clearly appreciates good ground, and altough he has gone back up 3lb for that effort remains feasibly treated on the best of his form.
His handler has a 36 per cent strike rate over the last 12 months with his runners at this track and Larks Lad has all the right credentials to add to that tally.
