Stan James are betting 20/1 that Bernard Langer is selected as a wildcard for Celtic Manor by Colin Montgomerie despite the recent injury scare to Lee Westwood and the fact that the German has been spoken of in glowing terms by the Scot in recent days.
Head of PR Charlie McCann said today: "Whilst Monty has talked up the idea of Langer receiving a wildcard the German's inclusion would be a massive blow to the likes of Paul Casey and could be construed a snub to the European tour. To win two senior Major titles back-to-back was a wonderful achievement but he missed the cut on his sole start on the PGA Tour in both 2009 and 2010 and we would be staggered if Monty turned to the 53-year old despite the latest scare toWorld number 3 Lee Westwood. We are betting 20/1 that Monty picks the German as a wildcard for Celtic Manor".
