Hazy Oaks has dropped to a career low mark and looks worth an interest at 12-1 in the 4.30 at Catterick today.
The seven-year-old is still a maiden over the obstacles, and although she has not been running well of late there are reasons to believe that a return to this track will see a turn around in her fortunes.
The mare has run all her best races at Catterick, and finished placed three times between January and March last season of marks of 90 and 95.
She is now running of just 88, and connections have found an absolutely dire race for her to potentially exploit her handicap mark.
Virtually all of her opponents are either ungenuine or have questions to answer, so in my book there is no way that Hazy Oaks should be a 12-1 outsider given the level of form she has shown at the track.
I had her in my tissue at around the 7-1 mark, so at 12-1 she is a terrific value and has to be worth an each-way punt.
Recommended bet: 2pts each-way Hazy Oaks (12-1 generally)
