Michael Scudamore is to saddle his first ever runner in Ireland when Gloucester lines up for the Galway Hurdle on Thursday.
The seven-year-old gelding finished second in last year's Scottish Champion Hurdle and showed his well-being with an excellent second in the Sumnmer Hurdle at Market Rasen on his latest start.
Michael's father Peter told puntinplay: "Gloucester is on target for the Galway Hurdle and has a nice racing weight. It will be Michael's first ever runner in Ireland and we are hoping for a big run as the horse is very well.
"Our main concern is the ground, and we have our fingers crossed that it will be good or better. We haven't confirmed who will be in the saddle as yet, but Tom (Scudamore) is the obvious choice if available."
Gloucester is currently a top priced 25-1.
