Lloyd Daniels is the standout favourite to be eliminated from The X Factor this weekend, with Betfair customers pricing the teenager at 15-8 to be shown the door.
To date, Daniels has failed to rouse the public, due to a string of lukewarm performances, and punters are clearly of the opinion that only a sensational showing on Saturday night will rescue him now.
34-year-old Jamie Archer is another in need of a barnstorming display, with bettors placing him as the joint second favourite to be voted off this weekend, currently 4-1.
Interestingly, Archer shares this price with headline-making twins John and Edward, despite their odds to win the show being dramatically shortened from 25-1 to 9-1 in the past seven days.
These conflicting betting patterns involving the Irish duo reflects the torn nature of the public’s opinion of them, which in turn is rendering their future a difficult one to predict.
Meanwhile, one man with no reason to fear for his place in the show is Olly Murs, who at 14-5 is now favourite to be the last act standing after yet another scintillating performance last time out.
Simon Cowell’s protégé has overtaken Joe McElderry as the punters pick, though the Tyneside teen can still boast plenty of backers with his odds to win currently at 4-1.
Betfair spokesman Ari Last said: "The public’s inability to warm to Rachel ultimately rescued Lloyd last week, although this time around there seems nowhere left for the Welshman to hide.
"As for John and Edward, the public seem to either love them or hate them and this is clearly reflected in our markets, with customers seemingly unable to decide whether the ’terrible twins’ are going to be axed, or whether they’re going to go all the way."
