Rock Anthem has been shaping as if his time is near and with Kieren Fallon in the saddle looks overpriced at 10/1 in the finale at Windsor (5.00).
Mike Murphy's gelding stayed on well under tender handling to finish a never nearer fifth of 11 to Yensi two outings ago at Leicester, and was far from disgraced on his latest start when 8th of 13 to Nazreef at Goodwood.
The slow early pace was totally against him that day, and he ran far better than his finishing position suggest to be beaten just 3 1/2 lengths.
He is now 1lb lower than his last success at Sandown last September where he showed a good turn of foot to come from off the pace and readily beat Beaumont's Party by 3/4 of a length.
That form looks pretty strong in the context of this contest, and the booking of Fallon certainly catches the eye.
He looks the ideal partner for the seven-year-old who has to be held up until the last possible moment to deliver his challenge.
I had Rock Anthem priced up at no bigger than 7s for this, so at the 10/1 on offer with Ladbrokes he looks a cracking each-way play.
