Dick Turpin was cut from 66s to 12/1 by sponsors Stan James for the 2000 Guineas on May 1 following his success in the Group 3 Greenham Stakes at Newbury.
Stablemate Canford Cliffs made most of the the running but shifted left inside the final furlong and was caught close home.
Head of PR Charlie McCann: "As a result of the Greenham we have cut St Nicholas Abbey from 2s to 7/4 and Dick Turpin from 66s to 12s. Canford Cliffs looked a very speedy colt but we pushed him out to 12s from 5s as he suggested sprint distances might be his forte in the months to come"
