There is a decent card at Romford this evening, and the three races which have been priced up by Coral are coincidentally the events in which I have strong fancies.
8.32, 400m - track record-holder Ardbeg Mentor goes in his favoured trap 1, and is one of few dogs that can trap from the red box at Romford. I am expecting him to reverse last week's form with Monleek Mayhem. He is available at 5/4.
9.20, 400m - this is the Coral On TV Puppy Trophy Final. I was at the track on Monday to see the heats, and was very impressed by the performance of Pat Rosney's Little Urge, who again goes from the pinging trap 3, and this may just help her make the bend in front of the dogs inside her. It will not be easy to clear trap 2 Slim Jim Phantom, but the 9/4 on offer is tempting.
10.24, 575m - Mark Wallis brings his Derby finalist Adageo back to the scene of his successful six-bend debut. Although he only held off Farley Denny by half a length, he may have been feeling the effects of a long Derby campaign. I expect him to improve again tonight, even though he clocked a decent calculated 35.58 on that six-bend debut. The draw in trap 6 is an added bonus with Best Bargain a middle runner in trap 5. Take the 9/4 with Coral as I feel we may open up shorter. A note of caution - have a look at the early results this evening, because Romford of late has been favouring the inside. However, Adageo's class should see him through.
Wimbledon Grand National semi finals - they are all short priced favourites, but I expect Nebuchadnezzar, Toomaline Jack and Sizzlers Spirit to all land their respective semi finals.
