Rebecca Curtis and Tony McCoy have a terrific strike rate when teaming up and looks to have a fine chance of landing a double at Hereford today.
They kick off with Gus Macrae in 4.30, and he sets a very high standard in the context of this race on his excellent second to Bellvano at Newbury on his debut over the obstacles.
The winner is very highly regarded by Nicky Henderson and being aimed at the Supreme Novices, whilst the third home Tito Bustillo is joint favourite for the County Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.
That form makes Gus Macrae a good thing in this line-up and it will be very disappoiting if he is beaten.
In the last race on the card (5.00) McCoy teams up with Curtis' newcomer Fishoutofwater who, on paper, looks a very interesting prosepct.
The six-year-old is from a prolific winning jumping family, and the stable has a 45% per cent strike rate with newcomers in bumpers.
They are also 3 from 3 with their bumper runners at this track, so it would be folly to ignore the chances of Fishoutofwater in what doesn';t look a particualary hot contest.
*Gus Macrae is currently a top priced 8-15, and Fishoutofwater is 9-2
