Bayern Munich go into tonight’s match against Villarreal on the back of a four match winning streak in the Bundesliga that culminated in a 7-0 drubbing of Freiberg at the weekend.
After a relatively poor year last term, third in the German Budesliga and only made the last 16 of the Champions League the Bayern boys have landed running this season. If you include the Champions league qualifier in their last six games they have scored 19 goals and conceded...a big fat zero.
Gomez and Ribery have topped the scoring charts with eight and three goals respectively but there is a doubt about Gomez so probably best to wait until the teams are announced before stepping in. The striker would be a big loss for the Germans.
Villarreal is a tough place to come and play and they have European pedigree but they have made a stuttering start to the season with a thrashing by Barca (5-0) and a home draw with Seville (2-2).
Bayern are the fancy here but Gomez is a worry given his current form. Looks like a game for goals so back the overs.
