Durham paceman Steve Harmison has missed out on a place in the 16-man England cricket squad that will tour South Africa this winter and Sky Bet go 4/1 that he plays another Test for England.
Sky Bet’s cricket betting spokesman Steve Hart said: "Harmison stated that he didn’t want to tour South Africa just to carry the drinks and now that the selectors have left him out, it looks like this could be the end of his Test career."
Harmison’s Durham teammate Liam Plunkett was given a call-up and Sky Bet offer 3/1 that he plays in the first Test. Adil Rashid is one of three uncapped players named in the squad and is also 3/1 with Sky Bet to play in the first Test.
Ashes centurion Jonathan Trott, who was born and raised in South Africa, retained his place and is 11/2 with Sky Bet to score a century in the first innings of the first Test.
Sky Bet offer 2/5 for England’s top scoring series batsman to be South-African born (Trott, Pietersen, Strauss, Prior), while it’s 7/4 that the top series runscorer is English born.
England face a tough tour against the number one ranked Test team and are 4/1 to win the four Test series (South Africa 1/2, drawn series 7/2).
