Botham is fancied to hit his rivals for six in the opener at Hamilton this evening (5.20).
Jim Goldie's six-year-old is somehting of a course specialist, with three of his four successes last year coming at the Scottish track.
He disappointed on his latest start at Musselburgh, but prior to that had finsihed runner-up three times in a row over today's course and distance and can easily be forgiven that below par effort.
The gelding is now back on his favourite stomping ground, and is on the same handicap mark as when last succesful at Ayr last October.
Paul Norton, who gets on with him well, takes a useful 5lb of his back and with conditions in his favour he looks the one they all have to beat.
*Botham is currently a top priced 5-1
*Scu was bang on the money yesterday when Papradon, advised at 4-1, was backed into 100-30 favourite before running out an easy winner of the 4.45 at Newton Abbot
