The Conservatives are now the punters’ pick to win an overall majority at the General Election next Thursday, according to the betting on Betfair.
They are currently given a 53% chance (odds 10-11) of gaining a majority.
A Hung Parliament has been the favourite since shortly after the first TV debate, but is now a 45% chance (odds 5-4), with a Labour majority on 2% (odds 49-1) and the Lib Dems on 1% (odds 139-1).
The betting now predicts the Tories to win 325-330 seats, with Labour on 208-213 and the Lib Dems on 85-90.
Betfair spokesman Mike Robb said: “Saturday was crazy day on the Betfair election markets. Punters had shown support for David Cameron after Thursday’s final TV debate, and the Tory leader is now odds-on for a working majority once more.
“Overall though, the betting suggests it’s very difficult to call which way this contest will go.”
