Favourite backers had to wait until the last race to collect when Quevega turned on the style to make it back to back victories in the David Nicholson Mares' Hurdle.
The mare, a heavily backed 6-4 favourite, was always travelling sweetly on the heels of the leaders in the hands of Ruby Walsh and after taking it up between the last two flights quickened well to beat Carole's Legacy and Voler La Vedette.
The victory paid testament to the training skills of Willie Mullins as Quevega had been off the track for 296 days after picking up an injury at Auteuil last May.
The victory proved a milestone for jockey Ruby Walsh who became the most successful jockey in the history of the Cheltenham Festival with 25 victories.
