Chosen Character has slipped back down to his last winning mark and looks worth siding with at 7/1 in the 1.30 at Leicester.
Tom Dascombe's gelding was in good form back in May, winning a decent handicap at Haydock in impressive style by five lengths and then following up under a 6lb penalty at Pontefract off a mark of 76.
He then ran another solid race to finish third at Chester off 82 but has since struggled to cope with his higher mark.
However he shaped promisingly last time out at Goodwood when finishing a close up never nearer 7th of 13 to Nazreef and with the handicapper having finally relented is back down to the same rating as when scoring at Ponte.
Another plus is that there are plenty of front runners in today's contest. The son of Choisir is best when coming off a strong pace and looks sure to get that this afternoon.
Everything looks in place for a huge run, and at the 7s on offer he looks an each-way steal in what isn't the strongest of contests.
Recommended bet: 2pts each-way Chosen Character (7/1 generally available - BOG firms)
