When I was a kid I wanted to be called Charlie Mccool or Charlie Eastwood, I always felt that cool names meant that a lot more doors would open to me in life - better job, supermodels falling at my feet and hanging out with the rap crew NWA!
Ultimately I found out that wasn't the case and hard work and dedication was the only way I was going to progress (I was too lazy for this also!).
You may think what an earth I'm talking about, but I had a long winded point to make about this weekends fight between Fury and Chisora.
Having watched everyone of Luke "Tyson" Fury's fights I can only conclude that he had the same view as I did as a kid but the only difference is he had the gumption to change his name to a cool one and it did open doors, because he doesn't bring much else to the table in this encounter to be totally frank.
Luke has shot his mouth off, time and time again and become a tiresome joke within British boxing circles.
No performance has shown me that he remotely has what it takes to beat Chisora, and in his best performance in stopping big mac John Mcdermott(he robbed the luckless john mc in the first fight) in the ninth round, he survived some of the shakiest moment I think I've ever seen.
He basically wanted to quit mid fight and if the in running bookies were not so gutless they would have earnt a few quid off me that night as I felt Luke Fury was going to chuck the towel in.
I clearly doubt his heart for what looks certainly a tough night's work for him. His power is overated due to knocking over the cannon fodder that promoter Mick Hennessy has thrown in with him ,and his conditioning is questionable as I really don't believe he is the most dedicated of pros. He talks as good a fight as "toeminator" David Haye without bringing a fraction of the ability to the table.
Dereck Chisora on the other hand may make almost as many stupid comments as Fury does but he appears to have some talent to back it up. He is a rareity for a world heavyweight as he does turn up for his fights in good shape.
He possesses a demonic work rate for a 17stone man and I believe fury will be poking his jab out and trying to maintain distance between himself and Chisora whilst Dereck will be using his decent movement and rolling his way in behind the jab before firing in fast accurate combinations.
One thing for sure is that Chisora is going to guarantee that this is gonna be a hard nigh's work for Fury. He won't roll over for Fury, but if Fury is going to win this he is going to have to ko Chisora and Chisora's high output will ensure that he will bank a lot of rounds through the judges eyes.
I can see fury getting disheartened with not being able to slow down the maurading Chisora and Dereck will be in full control come the 8th round, as the lumbering giant will begin to tire.
It will then simply be a question of will he be able to finish him off.
I expect he will be able to, and the referee will wave this off with Fury still on his feet but unable to defend himself around the 10th round.
