Pat Rodford enjoyed the biggest success of his carrer Holmwood Legend (25-1) ran out the game winner of the Byrne Group Plate.
Rodford only has a string of 20 horses but this year will certainly be one that he will remember with his other runner at the Festival, Sparky May, finishing second in the Mares' Hurdle to Quevega
Today's winner, who was sent off 25-1, had to survive a mistake at the last but found plenty under Keiran Burke to score by three-and-a-half lengths from Aimigayle (25-1) and the heavily backed 9-2 favourite Beautiful Sound who was virtually tailed off at one point but finsihed with a real rattle on ground that was patently too fast for him.
