I put Grandouet up ante post at 8-1 after his impressive victory at Ascot and see no reason to desert him.
His trainer Nicky Henderson has a tremendous record in the race, and Grandouet has done nothing wrong all season.
Ok he did finish behind Sam Winner at this track earlier in the season, but since then he has come on leaps and bounds and developed into the real deal.
His win at Ascot was particularly impressive.
He hurdled quickly and accurately at all bar one of the flights and was pulling double over his rivals turning for home.
Barry Geraghty hardly had to move a muscle as he pulled his way to the front and flew the last before easing clear on the bridle.
Before that he had slammed A Media Luz with ease at Newbury, and the fact that Barry Geraghty has stuck with him over his stable companion speaks volmues in my mind.
The biggest danger could be Dermot Welds' Unaccompanied who has barely come off the bridle in two wins over hurdles, and gets the 7lb filly's allowance.
Recommended bet (Already advised 22/1/2011): 2pts win Grandouet (8-1)
