Colin Tizzard's Cue Card became the first British-trained winner of the Champion Bumper since 2003 when running away with the Champion Bumper at 40-1.
The four-year-old, who had won his only start at Fontwell by six lengths, could be aclled the winner a long way from home as he tanked along behind the leaders.
He was pulling the arms of Joe Tizzard as they turned from home, and when his rider let out an inch of reign he quickend instantly and shot clear from his toiling rivals.
He eventually scored by eight lengths from the Paul Nicholls trained Al Ferof (8-1) and the staying on Irish raider Frawley (14-1).
