Ravi Bopara remains favourite to bat at number three for England in the crunch final Ashes Test against Australia next week.
There was money for Mark Ramprakash on Tuesday with extrabet trimming their price from 6/1 to 4/1 in the face of a few hefty wagers.
However, Essex man Bopara is tipped to keep the position despite his disastrous lack of form and Geoffrey Boycott labelling him a "rabbit in the headlights" and feeling he is out of his depth.
Rob Key is a live contender for the spot and is 7/2 with Sky Bet and Boylesports, with Ian Bell, Jonathan Trott and Ramprakash also in the running in an open betting market.
Shane Warne reckons Key deserves the nod for The Oval but with the man himself saying he is "not too fussed" and lavishing praise on rival Bopara, it is difficult to work out which way the selectors will go.
JUST IN: Bopara's woes continued when he was out for just 1 against Middlesex at Lord's with team-mate Alistair Cook (4) and Warwickshire's Ian Bell (1) also failing spectacularly with the bat on Wednesday.
