USA coach Bob Bradley is the early mover in the markets to take over as Villa manager following the shock resignation of Martin O'Neill.
The American, with no experience of playing or managing in Europe let alone the Premier League, was initially available at 6-1 on Betfair but has been backed into 21-5 overnight and is as short as 3-1 with other firms.
Betfair’s Andy Lulham said: “It’s no surprise that Bradley is being linked to Villa Park having done a decent job at international level with the United States, and that’s why the Betfair punters have made him the early favourite for the position.
“But I imagine Villa fans will be worried that as a fellow American he could be brought in merely to act as a puppet whilst chairman Randy Lerner pulls the strings behind the scenes.”
