Huddersfield take on Millwall in the division one semi-final play-off today. Like most of these games it will be a tense affair with no side wanting to lose the match in the first leg. However there is good reason to believe that there could well be goals and that on current form Huddersfield have a great shout.
On the current form table Huddersfield have only Southampton above them. Of thier last eight games they have won six and lost two. At home they have won four on the spin. In short they have hit form at the right time and this rather than finishing position can be the key ingredient when it comes picking the play-off winner. The home side have been consistent at their own track all season. They have won over 60% of home matches and have gathered 50 points from 23 games. They have also averaged 2.26 goals per home game. On the 16th April they beat Millwall 1-0.
Millwall have the eighth best away record in the League but this is predicated against the fact that their season was a game of “two halves”. On the road they have lost their last two with defeats against Huddersfield and Tranmere, prior to that they had only drawn against Yeovil.
At 2.4 with William Hill we fancy the Town today. We also think 4.3 with Skybet represents fair value for the Terriers to win promotion.
