Andy Murray did the puntinplay tennis fans big favour last week when he won he masters in Shanghai, although the passage to victory was cleared with the shock defeat of Rafa Nadal in the last 16. Murray can approach the Barclays play-off next month with a great degree of confidence.

This week it is slightly more mundane with 250 events in Stockholm and the Kremlin Cup in Moscow. Tipsarevic is the jolly for the event in Moscow and as he proved when making the last for at Flushing Meadows on his day he is top class. He is seeded one but we think the value lies elsewhere and Julien Benneteau is the player we like.
The Frenchman has been in outstanding form since the summer. In August he made the final of the Winston-Salem before losing to Isner, in September at the US Open he made the last 32 before falling on Andy Roddick’s sword and he has made the final and won in his two post New York events. Accepted these were minor events but he did beat Rochus in the final this week and lost a tie break decider to Seppi the previous week.
He is 16/1 because he potentially faces Tipsarvic in the quarters. However although they have only met once Benneteau did win that encounter. The Frenchman looks the puntinplay this week.
