On the back of our 16/1 ante post success with Ballymac Ace in the Pall Mall at Oxford, we now head to tomorrow night's Coral Sussex Cup at Hove. I have two ante post selections which, I am sure, can go through to the semi finals with the minimum of fuss. Thirty six dogs go to traps for the event, so the selections need to be in the first three to qualify.
Ballymac William heads a lopsided market and I make no apologies in making him a selection, even though he is favourite. The strength of his superiority is evident as it is 14/1 bar. The 4/1 available with Mr Paddy Power will contract markedly if he lands heat 2 in style as expected. His record round here speaks for itself. He landed the Olympic over C & D, and has a 100% record at Hove from four starts. With the slow starting Boolavogue on his inside he looks a good thing to make it five from five at the Sussex venue.
My second selection will be Chris Allsopp's Ballymac Rumble. He has performed creditably around here and recorded a smart 29.66 when beaten by Borna Rocker recently after being crowded at the first bend. He has been a bit unlucky of late with trap draws, but should be able to lie handy enough off the first couple of bends to make use of his power packed finish over this trip, An each way bet at 16/1 quarter the odds 1,2,3,4 is advised. Ladbrokes will accommodate you.
