Ballymac William is yet another finalist for puntinplay followers. We put him up ante post at 4/1 and he now trades a best price 7/4. Carly Philpott's runner is unbeaten round this venue, and has a flying 29.55 to his name. However, the final is a really competitive affair with early pace on show, especially from the inside four runners.
It may be a case of whoever makes the bend in front will go on for victory. Ballymac William has struggled somewhat to shrug off opponents so far in this competition, but he has been really game to maintain his perfect record at Hove. Let's hope for a smash break from the blue jacket to land our ante post bet. Our other selection Ballymac Rumble at 16/1 just failed to reach the final finishing third in his semi. We must follow Rumble when he returns to a sharp six bends, a tilt at the Romford Champion Stakes is a possibility.
7.40, 515m hurdles - I am a real fan of strong running Sizzlers Spirit, who goes in the red jacket and looks to have great make up, with Plane Daddy likely to move middle from trap 2. This is another dog who is unbeaten at Hove over C & D, and tonight can make it five from five. Crucially, he has proved he can handle Hove's difficult obstacles and the 3/1 available with VC is tempting. Nebuchadnezzar is a good animal, but the main danger could be Junior Mac from trap 4, who won in 24.52 at Romford over 400m hurdles, and put in a blinding solo when clocking 30.09 last week.
8.50, 930m - in this marathon you can have one guess at which two bitches meet again. No prizes if you were correct as Midway Skipper and Taylors Riviera cross paths again. Taylors Riviera has had the better of it lately, but Midway Skipper's trial round Henlow may have just revitalised her, and I hope dual TV Trophy winner, Midway Skipper, can get back to winning ways where 3/1 is freely available.
9.25, 740m - this looks the trickiest race on the card. However, having backed Bubbly Sally to win the Coral on TV Marathon over 750m, I was really impressed with her that night. She has a good pitch on the inside, and the long straights could suit her as she is difficult to pick up if getting on the bunny. The main danger here could be Droopys Audrey for Seamus Cahill in trap 6. She has been performing well of late, winning over 575m and 750m at sister track Romford. She has had a couple of reversals lately, which just sways me towards Paul Young's Bubbly Sally, who was given a look around here over four bends. The time was slow, but it was a messy trial. She is available at 9/2 with William Hill and Ladbrokes.
If you fancy a couple of short ones to get stuck into, Kildollan Bound in the 8.15 and champion sprinter Jimmy Lollie in the 8.35 could be worth a double, which would pay 2/1 with Stan James on the early prices.
